Special Information About Google Classroom Privacy

You are accessing the MrNussbaum ContentLink App -- this is an "AddOn" for the Google Classroom environment. AddOns require special permissions from you in order for the AddOn to access certain information about you. This information is used to access and enhance your experience in the AddOnn.

The Mr Nussbaum Content Link AddOn complies with the Google API Service User Data Policy (located here). All use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy (located here), including the Limited Use requirements.

We require access to "NON-SENSITIVE" Google scopes, which access basic information about you, such as your email. Here is a list of these scopes.

Scope Description
userinfo.email See your primary Google Account email address
userinfo.profile See your personal info, including any personal info you've made publicly available
classroom.coursework.students Manage coursework and grades for students in the Google Classroom classes that you teach and view the coursework and grades for classes that you administer
classroom.courseworkmaterials See, edit and create classwork materials in Google Classroom

We also require access to "SENSITIVE" Google scopes, which access basic information about your Google Classroom assets. Here is a list of these scopes.

Scope Description
classroom.addons.student See and update its own attachments to posts in Google Classroom
classroom.addons.teacher See, create and update its own attachments to posts in classes that you teach in Google Classroom
classroom.courses See, edit, create and permanently delete your Google Classroom classes

For Email and Personal information, we only track the "Login Hint". We store that number so that we know who is accessing our system, and we know which students are tied to teachers who have permission to link to our content. Inside our system, we generate a random number (UUID) and link any information inside our system to that number (not the Google Login Hint, or email, or Google ID). If a user requests that we delete their account, we destroy that UUID, and it can never be recovered. That means that there is no trace in our system that you were ever a user.

For the Classroom scopes, especially the Sensitive Scopes above, we do NOT store information related to those in our system. We use these scopes to discover which of your courses have attachments to our content, so that we can highlight that in the user-experience and prevent adding the same content twice to the same assignment.
